| Festival of Lacrosse - Perth 2002 |
For those lacrosse fans who have been living under a rock and were unaware, the Men's Lacrosse World Championships have just been held in Perth. The championships were part of the huge Festival of Lacrosse, hosted by the Western Australian Lacrosse Assocation.
Our own Warriors, brothers James Inge and Peter Inge, represented Australia against the best of the USA, Canada, Iroquois Nations and England. They did their club, state and country proud, and contributed strongly in Australia's third place finish. Peter received an even bigger accolade in being named as the Face-Off player in the 2002 World Championships All-Star Team. Pete's domination at the centre draw, his 5 goals and 4 assists, and the tremendous amount of hard work put in, in preparation for the championships was rewarded with his naming in the All-Star Team. This is the first time that a South Australian has been bestowed such an honour. Congratulations Pete!!

Congratulations to Steven Fisher, Stefan Guerin, Jarrad Pangrazio, James Smith and Ben Underwood, members of the South Australian Men's Under 17 team who defeated Victoria 16-15 in a thrilling National Championship Final. Steven bagged 6 goals and an assist in a monster game, while Stefan and Jarrad were rewarded for a great tournament week by being named in the national All-Star team.
Anthony Feleppa and Luke Oswald were members of the National Champion Senior Men's Lacrosse Team of 2002, who the week earlier won every game to get South Australia its second national title in succession, defeating Western Australia 16-13 in the final.
Anthony and Luke also joined in the inaugural Italian lacrosse team, along with Dominic Vorrasi, competing in the Festival of Lacrosse International Open. The Italian team were runners-up in the tournament, losing 4-5 to the USA West All-Stars team in a dramatic final.
And last but not at all least, Michael Hogan, David Inge, Robert Potter and Mark Southwell represented the "Vintage Reds", South Australia's team in the Grand Masters Tournament (over 45s) in the Festival of Lacrosse. All survived!
