Warriors 1999 Season Summary

The Warriors won only two games this season - two more than in 1998. However, despite early promise, the team failed to gel and by the end of the year, we were lucky to be scoring more than 3 goals a game.

Consistently disappointing attendances at training did not help our cause. It is difficult for the coach to organise appropriate training programs when only four to six players attend each session, and it is unfair on our teammates who are dedicated to playing.

As Captain, I was disappointed with the commitment shown by various players this year - their commitment to Rob Potter, their teammates and the Club as a whole. Hopefully, the 2000 season will bring about a drastic change in attitude for some players. If you aren’t prepared to put in the extra effort, let the on field coaching staff know prior to the season. At the beginning of this year, we had 15 players ready for League. By the last game, we were struggling to field a team.

It was a disappointing year, but to look on the bright side, we can only go up. See you in 2000.
