Warriors Game Report - 7 August 1999

Warriors Disappointing in Last Game of 1999 Season

Woodville 1, Glenelg 31

The game on Saturday, 7 August, would prove to be the worst in the Warrior A Grade women's short history. Our opponent was Glenelg, reigning premier and League leader.

To say the Warriors lacked heart would be an understatement. It almost looked like the team had given up before the first centre draw. We were not going to make the finals, so why should we even try? What about pride? What about because we are a team?

I don't know the quarter by quarter scores, however, the final score of 31 goals to 1, was appalling. We were missing vital players in Kylie Taylor, Nicky Mordowicz and Natalie Brook, and Natasha Vorassi who made her cameo appearance at quarter time, but as a team, we should have pulled together and made the score a little more respectable.

Our only goal scorer was Krissy Wilson from a penalty shot.
