| Warriors Game Report - 15 May 1999 |
That ambition looked a little beyond us, as at half time, we were 11 to nil down. We seemed to have quite a bit of the ball, but our shots on goal were either saved or went wayward. Our defence was strong, but our inability to win the ball from the centre was not helping to get it into our forward line.
The third quarter was a different story however. Krissy Wilson scored our first goal over the head of Glenelg and Australian goalie, Cath Morphett. It certainly brought the spirits up, especially when Natalie Brook scored from a penalty shot. We held Glenelg to only two goals in that quarter (unfortunately they scored their second goal with only seconds left).
The final quarter was also exceptional, with tight defence. The Warriors are certainly playing as a team and once we start to put a few more goals in the net, we will begin to threaten the top three teams.
The Warriors finished with a 3 goal to 4 second half. Goalie Emma Hart had an outstanding game. Although the final score was 15 to 3, Glenelg had 32 shots and Emma saved 5 one on one shots.
