| Warriors Game Report - 24 April 1999 |

The game was scheduled to commence at 12:00 as an opener for the A Grade men's game against Sturt. However, communication breakdown resulted in the game starting after 12:15, as the Brighton team believed the game was starting at 12:30. A few feathers were ruffled, but we should have used it to our advantage anyway, as the Brighton goalie only arrived as we were getting our sticks checked, and the rest of the team had only 15 minutes or so to warm up.
Despite the heat, the Warriors played well. The final score of a 15 to 4 defeat, was not necessarily disappointing for the girls. Unfortunately, we were forced into playing a very defensive game, but we put pressure on Brighton and tried to capitalise on their errors. Goalie, Emma Hart certainly deserved her "Best on Ground" as she was vocal, made some great saves and played a vital role in moulding the defence.
Our centres were a lot better this week, especially with Krissy Wilson's and Kate Threadgold's height advantage. Linda Russo took advantage of draws which dropped straight into her stick, but unfortunately, she rarely had the back up of her own players to get the ball into our forward line.
Unfortunately, Coach Rob Potter was unable to be there, but we were more than ably looked after by Assistant Coach, Neil (Nosey) Parker. The dedication of a couple of players was brought into question as we ended the game with only 9 players due to social commitments and disappointing attitudes.
