Woodville, in their Centenary game, matched up against Sturt at Findon Oval in Round 2 of the Lacrosse SA Men's 'A' Grade season. The Warriors had worked hard on the training track all week in preparation for this game and certainly wanted to put on a good show to celebrate its 100 years.

Woodville came out all guns firing in the first quarter as they peppered the Sturt goal with little resistance from the Blues defence racing to an early 8 - 1 lead at the first break.

The Warriors were pumped up and going hard at the ball at every opportunity, placing intense pressure on Sturt every time they went into their attacking half. Time and time again Woodville's strong defence repelled the Sturt attack and sent the ball back to the attack helping the Warriors to a 7 - 0 quarter and a half time lead of 15 - 1.

It was a similar story in the third quarter with Woodville's attack dominating the game with great support from a rock solid defence as it blew out to a 9 - 1 quarter taking the score to 24 - 2 at the final break.

The score line gave Coach Brown the chance to play a few players in the attack line and give them an opportunity to show their skills. Ben and Paul Zammit making the most of their chances with Paul Zammit running riot in the last quarter. Coach Brown also offered a great incentive, if the Warriors would hit the ground balls hard in the last quarter he would cancel Sunday morning's training session. The quarter was a little sloppy with many position changes and ended up a 5 - 2 quarter in favour of Woodville who finished the game 29 - 4 winners.
